Working of Search Engine:-

1. Crawler or Spider-

  • First, your website's whole source code is crawled by Crawler or Spider and then they save it to the local server after reading the whole website source code.

2. Indexer-
  • The role of Indexer is to collect data from the local server and perform indexing of your website in a specific category where it belongs.
  • For instance if your website is based on a hotel indexer will index your website in the hotel category or if you have a school website indexer will put your website in the school category.
  • When the indexing is finished indexer saves data to the main server.

3. S.E.R.P-

  • S.E.R.P is an acronym for Search Engine Result Pages.
  • Ranking Algorithms decides the ranking of the websites to be shown on Search Engine Result Pages (S.E.R.P).
