Types of Marketing


There are 2 types of Marketing-

1. Inbound Marketing-
  • Inbound marketing is a strategy which is used to promote your business online with unpaid or paid campaigns.
  • It can be organically or through some paid campaigns to engage relevant audience to your company when they’re looking for solutions.
  • Inbound marketing is a method of attracting, engaging, and delighting people to grow your business that provides value and builds trust among your audience regarding your product or service.
  • The main idea behind inbound marketing is to put your audience on blast by providing the content which results in grabbing their attention to your messages and after that you are able to get experiences about what your customers actually want to seek out so that they can find you whenever they want and need it.
  • They (audience) can find you via search engines, or various other possible channels like social media platforms, your audience will only interact with your company if they were interested or in need of what your company had valuable content.

2. Outbound Marketing-

  • Outbound marketing is totally opposite to the inbound marketing as outbound marketing is a traditional method of marketing seeking to interact with their potential customers..
  • Outbound marketing is different from inbound marketing in a way that inbound marketing practices are performed online where as outbound marketing is a way of promoting your business offline.
  • Outbound marketing is based on promoting your brand without the use of internet.
  • Outbound marketing is when the marketers reaches out to the people to see if they are interested in a product or not.
  • For example- Bulk messages, TV ads, Digital Hoardings or this can also include door-to-door sales. 



We must use both inbound marketing and outbound marketing in a ratio of 80-20% because inbound marketing is less expensive than traditional marketing whereas outbound marketing is expensive because it usually broadcasts to a mass audience even if they aren’t in your target demographics. You have to buy expensive media exposure and keep repeating your message for it to work.
